Sad Kentucky Derby Ending

Our condolences to the owners and trainers of Eight Belles. She hung with the boys today, beating out 18 of them for a 2nd place in the Kentucky Derby. Sadly, some folks (and their blogs) don't miss a political jab in anything. I couldn’t help but feel the heartbreak and frustration the owner of the beautiful filly, Eight Belles, must have felt today. Eight Belles came in second in the run for the roses but her front ankles broke from all the stress of running hard and she went down. The newscaster said that rehabilitation is next to impossible for that type of injury and because she was in pain, she was put down. It was all so sad to watch. “There was no way to save her.
