common sense

So, Gamestop continues to profit through the sinking American economy. I couldn't be happier for them, really. I figure, since they're on to a great business strategy (however much I hate them), that maybe they'll increase beyond their capacities and implode and leave way for a slightly less shady mainstream game retail chain. It's not that the practice of reselling used games with an unnecessarily high markup and no kickback to the developers of the products is illegal or bad or anything (it's readTwo Questions of a Soon-to-be Immigrant (by Gareth Higgins)
In a few weeks, I will make a life-changing journey. After 33 years of living in Northern Ireland, and for very good reasons, I am about to become an immigrant. I'm excited about this move, not least because I believe that doing something new is one of the best ways to grow as a human being. But two questions come to mind as I prepare myself for leaving home. The first is, "What will it feel like to be an immigrant?" Will I be welcomed by the people in my adopted country? Will I stand out? Wi readTwo Questions of a Soon-to-be Immigrant (by Gareth Higgins)

Good news about illegal aliens, they're leaving. It makes sense, enforce the laws and they start to leave. What a concept! Next there should be a push to prosecute anyone knowingly hiring or renting to illegals, a corresponding push to wipe out the gangs that are mostly comprised of these idiots and finally let's build a fence on BOTH the northern and southern borders, electrify it and mine the perimeters for ten yards on either side. We've needed secure borders since before 9/11/01. Yeah, I k readHow the iPhone Has Changed the Mobile Game
Finally, after weeks/months of waiting I got an iPhone 3G. You may recall the mix-up I had at the AT&T Wireless store which seemed like it would keep me from ever getting one. Well, the store manager had been emailing me regularly this past week and when the phone came in yesterday, I thought it better to get it quickly before they give it to someone else again. The store manager gave me a free iPhone case and screen protector for my trouble and the funny thing is, I really wasn't that upse read

NBC News reports tonight that Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine have been notified that they have been passed over for the vice presidential slot of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign… Whew. Bullets dodged. Joe Biden seems more and more likely to be Obama’s vice presidential pick. Well, Obama could certainly have done worse if Biden is indeed his running mate. The press loves Senator Biden (Delaware), 65, almost as much as they like Obama (if that’s possible), and he’s already a familiar face on the readObama’s Veep Announcement (coughBIDENcough) To Come Saturday Morning
The AP is reporting that the pick is less than 24 hours away… Late Friday, several officials said the text message announcement would be distributed Saturday morning, a few hours before a scheduled rally at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Ill., where the Democratic ticket would appear for the first time. Add to that the news of Bayh and Kaine getting the word they haven’t been picked, I think it’s obvious who it’ll be. But to back it up… Ambinder notes that a private plane has arri readOOH! DRUDGE is saying that Obama/Bayh bumper stickers are in the offing. HOWEVER, he now has a smaller line reading: MSNBC: Bayh, Kaine have been informed they are not it... MSNBC now has a link to that effect. It also appears that we will find out the pick tomorrow morning and not today, as I had hoped. Regardless, could it be...? readObama-Bayh?
Media speculation on Barack Obama's running mate has reached mind-numbing proportions, but this looks like as good a tip as any.Michael Mahoney, the political reporter for Kansas City TV station KMBC is reporting that a printing plant in Lenexa, Kansas is today hastily churning out hundreds of thousands of bumper stickers with the names Obama and -- wait for it -- Bayh 08. So two senators from next door states -- Barack Obama of Illinois and Evan Bayh of Indiana, former governor and son of read

How To Be Or Not To Be Better Than Shakespeare? Hamlet 2 Reveals Having a male drama teacher named Dana Marschz would be strange. Having a male drama teacher named Dana Marschz who dresses in old caftans, has a funny-looking hair-do and roller-skates to work would be even stranger.
