idol 7: from 4 to 3
Nearly 51 million votes last night and the top three contestants, Ryan told us, all had within 1 million votes of each other. And how, I wondered at the top of the show, would that bode for Jason? Did his fans rise up in protest the moment Simon said, "Pack your bags"? Could be. This is, after all, American Idol. David A — safe David C — safe Stupid phoned in questions. Guest group, Maroon 5. Bo Bice. Amazing how long an hour results show can feel. Thumb twiddling. And finally the results — readAmerican Idol: All But Ensuring a David on David Finale
The stars certainly came out in droves to the Idol theater to see the elimination of someone not named David. Howie “Deal!” Mandel was there. Kimberly Caldwell and Judge Judy were in the house as well. I had to wear sunglasses the stars were so bright. The shades also came in handy to view Syesha’s sparkly tank top, which was apparently an homage to the regulation service tank tops on Battlestar Galactica. One can only imagine how much more frakkin’ would get done if Gaeta and Dee were allowe readAmerican Idol: The Paula isn’t What You Might Call Eloquent Edition. Just Sayin’.
I think that we can all agree that the poorly choreographed and scandalously performed “Reelin’ in the Years” (which is a freakin’ awesome song) shouldn’t have happened. Group vocals almost never work out well on this show. Sining together, they were simply awful; David Cook and Syesha were credible in their solo bits, Archuleta was mildly humorous, and Dreads just gets worse with every episode that goes by, doesn’t he? And what happened with the way they just chopped the song off at the end readBo Bice “Witness” on May 7 American Idol Results Show (Video)
It was kind of cool seeing Bo Bice back on the American Idol stage — check out Bo Bice singing “Witness” on the May 7 American Idol results show in this video clip. readAmerican Idol 7 - Janice Muppet's Outta There!
My respect for Steely Dan dropped several notches after they apparently approved the use of Reelin' In The Years for the opening group sing on American Idol tonight. I hope Walter and Donald caught this cabaret bullshit and won't ever let this happen again. They cut to Judge Judy in the audience and I wanted her to come up on stage and pound her gavel on this criminal season of American Idol. I'm over it. Farm Bill: Any Means (Testing) To An End
When I testified last year before the House Agriculture Committee's conservation subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Tim Holden, I was asked what I thought about means testing for conservation programs. The back story was the administration's proposal to means-test commodity programs (cutting off subsidies for adjusted gross incomes of $200,000 or more) which the subsidy lobby hated not just because it threatened the unlimited supply of taxpayer money to the biggest, wealthiest subsidy farms in the c readCavala: Obama Will Be the Nominee--Happy Days Are Here Again
By Bill Cavala A veteran of over 30 years in Sacramento While I have many close friends who support Clinton and who support Obama, I have not been involved with either campaign. As a professional Democrat, I’ve watched the contest between the two of them evolve – often unexpectedly – for months. I now believe Obama will win our nomination. His lead among delegates was built by his activist-based victories in states that allocate delegates by caucus. You win such states by having the mone readGeorge Mc Govern Bails on the Hubert Humphrey of our Time. Says It's Her Time -- to Quit.
George McGovern, who's presidential race was destroyed by Hubert Humphrey (who thought -- for the second time in 1972 -- that he had the right to claim the Democratic nomination because of his former status and age) has switched his support to Ba Related Entries:California Needs a Do-Over In Democratic PrimaryLobbyist Who Was Lee Atwater's Mentor Is A Senior Advisor for McCain's CampaignSpringsteen Endorses ObamaMcCain Website Plagiarism "Done By Intern". I’m not sure what weight George McGovern has in the Democratic Party but, for what it’s worth, he’s switching sides and is now supporting Barack Obama. McGovern is not a superdelegate but his statement that Obama has won the nomination “by any practical test” is a sentiment I think more and more Democratic leaders will begin to express. read

Lebron Misses Another Late Game Layup, Boston Takes Game One
If you didn't stay up and watch Game One between the Cavs and Celtics I don't blame you. I've watched just about every San Antonio Spurs game over the past 8 years, and none of them compared to how boring this game was until the last few minutes (actually even those were boring). Dick Stockton and Mike Fratello called it a "defensive war" multiple times during the contest, but people were just bricking shots. There's no other way to describe Lebron's 12 points (2-18 shooting?!), Pierce's 4 point readGiants Strahan Still Not Sure About Returning in 2008
It is appearing more and more like Giants all-time sack leader Michael Strahan is going to retire and call it a career instead of coming back to the Giants in 2008. Strahan appeared on Fox & Friends Tuesday, and said he has yet to make up his mind on coming back. On NFL Radio on Sirius today, LB Antonio Pierce said he feels that Strahan will retire, as he said he’s done all he ever set out to do, ending last season with a Super Bowl ring. David Diehl made the shift to left tackle last season. Now he’s being paid like a left tackle, too. The Giants recently made the 27-year-old Diehl a very rich man, tearing up his old contract and signing him to a new six-year, $31 million deal. The details were first reported by ESPN’s John Clayton, whose story can be found right here. It’s a significant move for the Giants, because Diehl had only completed two years of the six-year, $15.5 million extension he signed back in 2005. They could readNew Diehl means hefty raise
