American Idol - Another week of boring Ballads
Hey, I’m back with another round of Idol Watch - sorry I don’t have a catchy original name for this. Last week I attended a screening and got home late, so I wasn’t in the mood to stay up until 2am to discuss another round of bad karaoke - especially after I saw that they were going to butcher the Beatles for a 2nd week in a row. As I write this, we’re about 10 minutes into the show. I have to give it another 40 minutes on my Tivo before I can actually turn it on and start watching. What t readWhat, no 1972?
I just get less and less interested as the season of American Idol rolls on. I’m bored. This week’s theme was songs from the year the contestants were born. Kookookachoo. First, let me just say that Paula should fire her stylist. What on my green earth was she wearing? The weird fingerless gloves with wrist bling made her look all crazy. Well, crazier than normal. And the rest of the ensemble was...well, just bad. I kind of had a little daydream that she’s been gearing up to play Lit readAmerican Idol Top 10 Songs
American Idol basically had an 80’s night this evening, but the twist was the contestants had to pick song that came out in he year they were porn. David Archuleta was able to pick a song from 1990 and went with an obscure song in the United States as he went with an Australian number that seemed to confuse everyone. Michael Johns gave the most exciting performance when he rocked out to Queen’s We Are The Champions and David Cook put a new spin on a Michael Jackson classic. As soon as the perfo readAI6 - Round of 10 - Birth Years
I had planned on taking the week easy. I wasn’t going to write anything too lengthy up. I didn’t take notes. And then they deliver what might be the best episode of IDOL ever. It has to rank up there. We can even float the possibility of MULTIPLE Idol Moments in one episode. When it was good tonight, it was very very good. When it was bad, it was still decent. Ramiele is in trouble again this week. Going first is never good. Being sick is never good. Singing a song that’s a little bigger than readAmerican Idol Top Ten Get Cooking
For the American Idol top ten performance show, the theme was songs from the year that the finalists were born. Of course, this theme meant cute baby pictures of the finalists in the background intro segments. After the disaster that was the second Beatles night, several of the finalists rebounded this week. Michael Johns and Kristy Lee Cook gave their best performances of the season so far, but David Cook ultimately stole the show. Ramiele Malubay was born on September 6, 1987. Ramiele read

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon & Her Twin Sons
Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon welcomed twin boys in October – and now the Haiti-born actress, 44, is showing them off in the March 31 issue of Jet magazine. “We’re so in love with them,” the former NYPD Blue cast member told People magazine about sons Jax and Jaid. (Dad is Garcelle’s husband since 2001, Mike Nilon.) “The boys are just gorgeous.” As is mom, who tells Jet about her decision – in her 40s – to pose nude for last August’s Playboy: “I wasn’t doing this for anyone other than to prove I co readTwin phenomena: Latest trend in Hollywood
Link Md Mudassir Alam, 03 March 2008, Monday A number of stars had twins the past year due to natural division of the embryo, but surrogacy is one of the major reasons behind the twin phenomena in Hollywood. Twin phenomena occur if several embryos are placed during in vitro fertilization. SINCE THE beginning Hollywood is known for its good movies, unique scripts, latest technologies used in film making and good acting. Jennifer Lopez, Nancy Grace and Marcia Cross have more in common than just being famous women at the peak of their careers. They have all recently become the proud mothers of twins. Lately, Hollywood just can't seem to avoid the twin phenomenon and two more expectant leading ladies are rumored to be joining the club. Quirky Signs of Spring
My clock radio waking me at 6:30 AM to the sounds of a Red Sox baseball game Even stranger--being in bumper-to-bumper traffic when the Red Sox tied it in the top of the 9th on Brandon Moss's first-ever major league home run Three guys ogling a new driver in the parking lot when I got to the office. We just had Easter, which is about as early as you can have it, and I don't see much green yet. I am still waiting for more traditional signs of Spring, like buttercups! readOpen the Window Aunt Minnie, here comes the MLB
The Major League Baseball season (finally) begins today. And I have figured out a fool proof way the Toronto Blue Jays can make the play-offs. All the Jays need do is move from the American League East and into the National League Central. Anyway, to help us get into the proper baseball spirit here are some of the top home run calls as determined by the Baseball Almanac: Adios!" Wayne Hagan "A high fly ball hit to deep ______. Took it to the track...wall...see. You. LATER!" Michale Reghi " readOpen Thread; Game 1 - A's vs. Red Sox (cont)
Well, I'm leaving my middle of the night A's party and going back home because I would actually like to see the game. Yes, I am very glad this season for good old cable. And thanks to MLB.com radio getting me through the first inning because Direct TV sucks in a way I can't describe right now. HAAATE. I leave you in the top of the second with the score: Boston: 0 Your 2008 Oakland Athletics: 2 (backed by a homerun by Ellis and a force out by Crosby) readOpen Thread; Game 1 - A's vs. Red Sox
[Note by baseballgirl, 03/25/08 3:09 AM PDT ]The update to end all updates. Direct TV is having a meltdown on ESPN 2, which is just about the worst thing that could happen to some of us who left our cable houses in favor of dish homes. I have radio feed, but no TV, and will be re-locating back home after the first. Good morning AN!!!!!!!! Is everybody fired up for a little baseball!?!! There isn't much else we can say about today's match-up that hasn't already been said; the 2008 Oakland At readYankees Chick on Baseball Prospectus Radio
The lovely and talented Brad from the ever-illustrious Baseball Prospectus was kind enough to have a little chat with the decidedly less lovely and/or talented Yankees Chick, during which we discussed everything from my admiration of the Red Sox pitching to The Moment of Truth.
